i was in a spiritual collision
where we were taken to see the end
it was beautiful
there were sparks and fireworks and a lavish red velvet closing curtain
i would have clapped with the rest of them, but i was caught off guard

i was caught off guard

the ropes were taut and straining
and yet they never snapped
we guessed that they would and hoped that they wouldn't

at least we were prepared
